Demi Lovato Partners with Fabletics

Kate Hudson's popular online activewear brand Fabletics has just announced its first-ever collaboration with singer Demi Lovato, The Demi Lovato for Fabletics limited-edition capsule collection.

Lovato’s new clothing line follows the company’s mission to make its brand appeal to a wide range of body types and fitness levels. Her clothing will focus on female empowerment, regardless of your size or body shape, and inclusivity.

Clothing will include an assortment of tops and leggings with inspirational words as part of the design, such as shirts and pants with “confident” and “unbroken” written in the fabric, according to The Hollywood Reporter. A compression bra is also part of the offerings, helping women feel confident about working out.

A launch party was held in Beverly Hills on May 17th, with stars like Molly Sims, Amanda Peet and Eric Buterbaugh in attendance and Samantha Ronson DJ’ing the event. A boxing ring was part of the party for photo opps, and to emphasize Lovato’s devotion to MMA training to keep fit.

Proceeds for Lovato’s new line benefit the United Nations Girl Up initiative, and in particular their SchoolCycle program, which works to give girls bicycles and maintenance training so they can have a safe transportation option for getting to school.

At the launch party, Hudson said: "We have 130 million young girls who are not in school around the world and that is unacceptable. The SchoolCycle program is something that we love because it is very tangible…A lot of these young girls live 20 miles away from the nearest school, and this has had a huge impact on these communities.”

Lovato has been on a roll lately. In addition to her performance at the Grammies, the star was also named one of Time Magazine’s “100 Most Influential People” in April.

In an interview for Billboard Magazine, Lovato stressed the importance of female empowerment in everything she does, including launching a new clothing line. She wants to advocate especially for young girls struggling with self-confidence and identity. She said, “don't allow anything to get you down. It’s all about being the best version of yourself. Whether you have to do daily affirmations and tell yourself that you’re beautiful, you’re a rock star or strong. You just have to do it."

The Demi Lovato performance collection will launch later in August, and will offer bras, leggings, tops and even layering pieces like jackets in an extended version of the new line. Prices will range from $24.95 - $49.95.

The capsule collection will be sold across eight countries and will be available on the Fabletics website, as well as 21 Fabletics retail stores nationwide.
