Any idea on how to read those numbers on the side of your eye glasses frames to figure out the measurements needed when buying new frames? The number on my glasses is:

56/19/140

Ok those numbers will defiantly help. Here is the break down:
  • 56 - This is your lens width size.
  • 19 - The size of your eye glasses bridge. In other words the distance between the lenses.
  • 150 - The length of frames arm or side. Also called the temple length.

Using these numbers (or ones close to it) will ensure your glasses are similar in size to the ones you currently own. The important numbers for fit is the bridge size and frame arm size. Making the lens size larger shouldn't change the comfort level of the glasses overall.

Most eye glasses services like Frames Direct or Glasses USA do offer free satisfaction guarantees which would allow to exchange your glasses if they do not fit properly so the financial risk to you of ordering glasses is zero.
