I personally prefer vegetarian diet. I try to cook healthy recipes from the livre régime. The diet guide has many recipes that are beneficial for the body.

I personally can't cut out to much protein. I need my eggs and cheese. I also eat fish as well but keep beef, pork and chicken off the table. It has worked well for our family.

So a vegetarian diet contains no meat. This includes pork, beef, poultry, and seafood.

A vegan diet goes a step beyond and contains no animal products period. This includes any meats, eggs, dairy like milk, cheese, and yogurt. With this diet you virtual get no cholesterol and very little fat.

Being on either diet will reduced the risk of heart disease, diabetes, and some types of cancer.

Which do people find is healthier. While having a low meat diet is healthier I think cutting it out completely is not the way to go. I also believe the vegan diet is not healthy in the long run. You can't get enough fats from nuts and soy-based products like tofu. Humans naturally are suppose to eat both meat and vegetables. Our digestive system can handle both and our teeth are made both for tearing meat and grinding vegetables.

Most people on a vegan diet run into problems of being low in vitamins such as B12 and iron. Then end up having to take vitamins in pill form to make up for it.
