STD Test Express is an online sexual transmitted disease testing service which was launched in 2009 by the Analyte Physicians Group Services (APG). This medical practice has helped more than 120,000 people in the United States and their doctors have connected with over 16,000 people to further discuss their test results and care. STD Test Express has access nationwide to over 4,000 CLIA-certified labs from which you can visit to submit your samples. APG Services which designed and operates STD Test Express is located in Chicago, IL and has a Better Business Bureau rating of A.

At STD Test Express you can get tested for 7 of the most common STDs. These include:

  • Chlamydia
  • Gonorrhea
  • Hepatitis B
  • Hepatitis C
  • Herpes 1 & 2
  • Syphilis
  • HIV 1 & 2 Antibody

A test for HIV Early Detection is also available for an additional cost. It will detect signs of an HIV infection in just 2 weeks after exposure to the virus.

How It Works

Getting yourself tested for STDs is private, inexpensive and hassle free:

  1. Visit STDtestExpress.com and take their private digital questionnaire which will help determine which tests you should take and where you need to go to get your samples collected.
  2. Take provided personalized lab order form to the certified lab. No appointment required. Visit lasts between 15 and 30 minutes and a blood and/or urine sample will be required.
  3. Your STD test results will be available in 3 business days or less and can be found on your secure account at STDtestExpress.com.

STD Tests

STD Test Express test for the following STD viruses: Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, Herpes 1 & 2, HIV 1 & 2 Antibody, and Syphilis. They also have an HIV Early Detection test which can be used in as little as 14 days from first exposure to detect the presence of the HIV virus in blood. Test results usually are available in 3 business days from when the samples where taken at the lab.

Personalized Test Recommender

To figure out which STD tests you require you first need to use the Personalized Test Recommender at the STD Test Express website. This digital tool asks you a number of questions to help you find a certified lab located close to you and to figure out what STD tests you need. Questions asked include (but not limited too) your gender, what symptoms you are experiencing, and if you have a partner who has an STD.

Privacy

Your privacy is important to STD Test Express. All communication including emails will come from APG Services. This name will also appear on credit card, HSA, and FSA statements if you choose to purchase a STD test through one of these payment methods.

Insurance

STD Test Express does accept health insurance plans. They accept plans from the following providers: Anthem, Blue Cross Blue Shield, CareFirst, Highmark, Humana, Premera, and The Regence Group. Unfortunately Medicare or Medicaid is currently not accepted. For any one or more STD tests you select to run, you will be required to pay $65 for the doctor's consult fee. If you are covered for 100% of the tests by your health insurance this can save you more than $200. You are required to pay for any portion of the tests cost not covered by your plan. The HIV Early detection test is not covered by insurance. Unfortunately insurance coverage is not provided in the following states: AR, DE, OK, SC, TX and VT.

Cost

To run all 7 STD tests it will cost you on average from $240 to around $300 depending on the lab selected (prices do vary by lab). You can pay by HSA (Health savings account), FSA (Flexible spending account), credit card, or debit card. For the HIV Early Detection test, it is usually an additional $60 - $100. After providing blood sample my was in pain and the next day I had a bruise on half of my arm.  This is the frit time I have such a big hematoma, and my arm still hurts. The worst part after waiting 5 days for results I receive a message “The laboratory is unable to process at this time due to insufficient sample.” I provided 2 test tubes of my blood by the way. Had to call multiple times, to explain the issue. Supervisor always unavailable they promise to call back but they do not. Had to provide another blood sample at different lab but after 3 days waiting still not getting a result. Waste of money, waist of valuable time and were injured. If I knew I would just go to my physician doctor where results are ready in 2 days, and I never had issues like that.

The testing here is private and discreet. It's easy to use my health insurance which helped to lower the cost.

I wished the results had arrived quicker than a few days but the whole process was simple from making the appointment, getting tested, and receiving the results. They do need to make the report you get online formatted better because when I tried to print it from my web browser it didn't really come out right on my printer.

I was working in another state for a month and I didn't want to wait until I got home to see my doctor for an STD test so I went ahead with STDTestexpress and I was happy I did.
Pros
Can use insurance.
Cons
Results Form not print friendly.
Bottom Line
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

I called my doctor to setup an appointment for a test and found out I would have to wait a week to see him and then another week for him to review the results after I had my blood work tested for STDs.

I wanted to find out much quicker than that as an old girlfriend of mine had tested positive. I found online 3 nights ago stdtestexpress.com and I had my order placed in under 10 minutes. I had my blood samples taken the next day in 15 minutes at the lab next to campus and had my results in 2 days. So in half a week I had my STD test results which where fine BTW.

Glad to get that worry out of my life!
Pros
Fast test results and easy to do
Bottom Line
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

A great experience with a customer representative when I call the phone. I wasn't sure what tests I should get and how to get the process setup. I answered a few questions and based off of my answers the rep was able to recommend the tests I should have.

Later I realize they have the same question process through the website. I went to the Diagnostic Center which was close by my condo and then 4 days later had the results where available online. Quick and painless and my insurance covered most of it as well.

I have no complaints.
Pros
Diagnostic Center close to my condo and it doesn't need an appointment
Bottom Line
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.

There seems to be 2 main STD online testing services. STD Check and STD Test Express. Both seem to offer the same tests but STD Check is reportedly faster.  I am not sure how since both use the same testing labs and you would think both companies would get the test results equally fast. I did double check this fact for both companies when I was price checking and both websites said the closest lab to my location was the exact same lab.

The reason why I ended up choosing STD Test Express was that they accept health insurance plans. STD Check says they don't because of privacy which doesn't make much sense since you can choose if you want to use insurance or not, and therefore remain private.

Well I wasn't about to pay for the STD test myself since it is over $200 and it is covered by my health provider.

The whole process of testing is straight forward. You create an account on the STD Test Express website, select what tests you want and the lab. I went in the next day and had my blood work done. By the following week I was emailed that my results where in. So I logged back into the STD Test Express website to view them. Thank god everything was fine.
Pros
Accepts insurance. Done by qualified lab.
Bottom Line
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
