Is a popular Microsoft scripting language for Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS).
How much data can be transmitted in a time period over a communications channel, often expressed in kilobits per second (kbps). Bandwidth is a rate and data transfer is a total.
|Common Gateway Interface|| |
A server side program or script that acts as a translator for the data flowing from your web server, turning it into a readable and interactive web page.
|Content Delivery Network|| |
A globally distributed network of proxy servers deployed in multiple data centers. The goal of a CDN is to serve content to end-users with high availability and high performance.

|Content Management System|| |
A software system that provides website authoring, collaboration, and administration tools designed to allow users with little knowledge of web programming languages or markup languages to create and manage website content with relative ease.
Popular CMS include WordPress, Joomla, and Drupal.
|Control Panel|| |
Refers to the interface provided by the hosting company for the maintenance and monitoring of the hosted website.
A Linux-based web hosting control panel that provides a graphical interface and automation tools designed to simplify the process of hosting a web site.
|Data Transfer|| |
The total amount of outbound traffic from a web site, typically measured in gigabytes (GB). Bandwidth is a rate and data transfer is a total.
An organized collection on information that a computer program can quickly select desired pieces of data. Examples of database programs include MySQL and MS SQL.
|Dedicated Server|| |
When referring to web hosting, a Dedicated Server means your web site is the only one on the server. Needed for only very busy web sites.
|Disk Space|| |
The amount of space available on your servers harddrive that you have available for your web site and database.
|Domain Name|| |
Is the text name corresponding to the numeric IP address of a computer on the Internet. A domain name must be unique.
|Domain Name System|| |
The set of databases that performs the correspondence between an IP address and the fully qualified domain name. Note: The domain name system contains a kind of naming tree for IP addresses, hosts, and domains, identifying each Internet node unambiguously.
Electronic Commerce is the term used when referring to exchanging, buying, or selling goods or services using the Internet.
Is a commercial script library which automates the installation of web applications to a website. Fantastico scripts are executed from the administration area of a website control panel such as cPanel.
