I've started to order online now as it is a bit faster since I have my account setup with my information for what contacts I usually order, my prescription and my address. I use to order over the phone for years and I found 1800Contacts always had the best customer reps. They were very friendly and always knew the answers to my questions. The key thing is they also usually answer when you call right away or at least in the first minute or 2.
Pricing is also excellent with my 3 month supply of contacts usually running me $40 and my shipments usually arrive in a couple of days.
Pros
Quick Customer Service and good prices for contacts
I have used 1800 contacts several times without issues but the last time I ordered from them the package arrived smashed. I am not sure how it happen, all I know is it is not my fault.
Over a third of my contacts had to be thrown out as they had leaked due to the damaged box.
I am not happy with less contacts than I paid for. I may not order from them again because of this. They need to use better shippers!
This is my first pair of contacts. I first needed glasses last year but hate wearing them so I decided to get contacts. While the service at my doctors is great the price is not for Acuvue daily contacts . While I was deciding what to do my eye Doctor did give a weeks worth of sample contacts to try out and to see if I was able to get use to them.
After a few days I had got use to them and like them much better than seeing glasses on my face. The problem is when I checked online to compare prices, which I do for everything now, my eye doctor prices was almost twice as much. I believe service is worth something and if it was only 15% more I would have stayed with my Doctor. At twice the cost I cannot and I actually feel like I almost got ripped off by them especially since with contacts it is something that I will have to keep buying for the rest of my life (or until Laser surgery).
I ordered the exact same contacts from 1-800 Contacts that my Doctor recommended. They are exactly like the samples I received and I have no problems with them.
I recommend if you are buying contacts from your eye Doctor check at 1800 Contacts first and I am sure you will find a much cheaper price.
In the last 2 years I have used 1-800 Contacts 3 times. I found their prices to be a lot cheaper than my Doctor's and I am ordering the exact same disposable contacts. I ordered my first set over the phone and customer service was fine. No automated voices, I reached a real person right away. The next time I created an account on 1800contacts.com and ordered online. It is easier this way since I can see what prescription I have and what I ordered last time.
I usually receive my contacts in about 5 days after ordering since I use the free shipping option. The order has always been correct. I have no complaints.
I have used 1-800 contacts for a few years now and will continue to do use them as I have always received my eye contacts on time and for a really good price. The cost of my daily contacts order at my optometrist was almost $150. When I checked online at 1 800 Contacts it was $78 including shipping. The exact same brand name and contacts. You can't beat that price.
Pros
Prices are super cheap. Easy to order. Remembers last order.
